Coverings are the largest tile and stone exhibition in North America and 2019 was the 30th year of the event. The show gave the 27,000 attendees an opportunity to see the latest tile trends and innovations. Other attractions included education sessions on topics like tariffs, e-commerce and retail technology and installation lectures on topics like Substrate Preparation.
Garmon & Company are experienced with substrate preparation whether an old slab or new. We are able to provide concrete surveys, Adhesive removal, self-leveling concrete pumps or pours and skim coats.  We know that good and stable preparation is the key to success.
We also keep up to date with all the latest industry material and design trends. Here we look at some of the best looks and trends to emerge from Coverings 2019.

Trends at Coverings 2019
Key trends included tiles with modern motifs and antique patterns. Wood-look planks with bold contrast and shading were also on-trend. See an example of this look with our Queens University project. Graphics were big this year with nature-inspired looks, comic book graphics and graffiti styles. Bright colors and supergraphics were also on-trend, and blue was one of the hottest color hues on show this year.
In addition to color and graphics, there was also variety in tile scales and shapes in the new products. Manufacturers are using large sizes for walls and smaller formats on the floor. When it comes to shapes the square format is popular again, while the hexagon format is being overtaken with other geometric shapes. Black and dark marble and stone tile looks as used in our Omni and Cachet projects also made a big impact.
