The commercial flooring industry never stands still. With continuous new product research and development, manufacturers find innovative ways to make products more resilient, eco-friendly, easier to install and maintain.

Then there are the constant changes in styles, trends, and commercial demand. The Covid-19 pandemic is just one example of this constant state of change. Since the outbreak, there is much more interest in flooring and materials that are naturally more resistant to germs.

To keep on top of the changes in our industry, we here at Garmon invest in continuous training and learning about new techniques and products.

Over the past few months this has included training sessions in association with many other leading companies:

Tarkett Woven Carpet – January

Ardex Polished Concrete Solutions – February

Uzin Floor Prep – February

OSHA-10 Training – August

Mapei Adhesives – August

Wolff Tools – September

In September we also took part in a training session and product demonstration with ceramic floor preparation products from Mapei.

During our Mapei Keraflex Thin Set & Self Leveling demonstration, the team learned about these new products, how to install them, the pros of the setting time, and the strength of self-leveling once cured.

In addition, Mapei presented demonstrations of their new tools for floor preparation and installation including buckets, spreaders, and sponges.
